Spokane, WA — October 15, 2025 — Nuestras Raíces Centro Comunitario (NRCC) proudly announces the return of its 11th Annual Día de Los Muertos Celebration, honoring life, death, and the enduring bonds of community. This year, the celebration will take place on Saturday, November 1, with two special events: a Family Celebration at NRCC from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and an Evening Celebration at No-Li Brewhouse Bier Hall from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We kindly remind everyone that this holiday is not Halloween. It’s a deeply meaningful Mexican tradition that celebrates the lives of loved ones who have passed away.
The Family Celebration, hosted at NRCC at 1214 E. Sprague, Ave., invites the community to come together for a day filled with color, culture, and remembrance. Attendees will enjoy traditional ofrendas (offerings) honoring loved ones, arts and crafts for children, cultural performances like mariachi and folklorico, food vendors, and community resource tables. This free, family-friendly event is an opportunity for families—especially those with Hispanic heritage—to celebrate and preserve this deeply meaningful Mexican tradition that celebrates the lives of those who have passed and the memories that continue to unite us. During this event, we will also host a free vaccine and health check-up clinic in partnership with CHAS Health Center.
The Evening Celebration, hosted in partnership with No-Li Brewhouse, one of NRCC’s dedicated community partners, will take place at the Brewery’s Bier Hall, located at 1003 E. Trent Ave., This 18+ event promises an unforgettable night of dance, music, and cultural pride, featuring performances by Tlecoatl Danza Azteca, Ballet Folklórico de Spokane, and Compandres live band. Guests can also participate in a Catrina contest, offerings on display throughout the month, and food and beverages available for purchase, including the special Dia de Los Muertos Pint glasses. Attendees are encouraged to wear colorful attire or Catrina-inspired looks in celebration of this powerful tradition that honors life through art and remembrance.
“We want Spokane to experience the beauty of this tradition and understand that Día de Muertos is a celebration of life, not loss,” said Brianda Perez, Communications, PR & Marketing Coordinator at NRCC “It’s about connection, remembrance, and the strength of community.”
Some of the proceeds from the Dia de Los Muertos Pint glasses and community support from these events benefit the Raíces Capital Campaign, a $18 million initiative to build a culturally rooted and linguistically appropriate Cultural & Behavioral Health Center in Spokane’s East Central neighborhood. This visionary project reflects Nuestras Raíces’ mission to uplift Latino and multicultural families through education, economic development, arts, culture, and health.
