Founded in 1979 as a 501C6, the Hispanic Business Professional Association (HBPA), aimed to assist Hispanic Latine Youth and newcomers in Spokane through networking and post-secondary education scholarship awards. In 2007, the association formed the 501C3 known today as Nuestras Raices. A non-profit that has grown to employ over 25 staff members across eastern Washington. Nuestras Raices now offers a diverse array of services, including workforce training, youth education, social services, behavioral health support, and initiatives in arts, culture, and economic development, thereby enhancing the community's vibrancy and opportunities.

Spokane County’s Latine population has grown exponentially larger in the four decades since the founding of Nuestras Raices- HBPA in Spokane County. That has prompted Nuestras Raices to evolve its many programs, which now serve more than 7,000 people in Spokane, Adams and Grant Counties with innovative youth, family support, economic development initiatives and behavioral health services.
This cultural center aims to empower the Latine Hispanic community by fostering creativity and providing services that are culturally and linguistically relevant, ultimately enhancing overall wellness and financial prosperity. By engaging the community in its design and leadership, the center will serve as a hub for cultural expression and a catalyst for positive change, promoting pride, health, and economic growth among its members.

The agency plays a vital role in serving over 7,000 individuals across Spokane County and the rural areas of Adams and Grant counties, with offices located in Spokane and Othello. By catering to a diverse clientele with varying backgrounds and living situations, the agency remains committed to providing adaptable and culturally sensitive services that meet the unique needs of each client.
We are seeking your support for our Cultural & Behavioral Health Center, designed to enhance the sustainability and wellness of the Hispanic community by providing community-driven, culturally relevant, and person-centered prevention and treatment services that address the unique needs of Hispanic and Latine individuals. Your partnership will help us foster a healthier, more resilient community that honors our cultural heritage while promoting overall well-being.
